When a new First Grade cricket captain took charge of one of Australia’s most prestigious club sides in mid-2025, the demands of the role were immediately clear.

The Challenge

Club-level captains rarely have access to the off-field support common in professional environments. There is no full-time analyst, mindset coach, or leadership trainer. 

Taking over from a respected long-term leader, the new captain faced a few immediate needs:

• Planning how to approach the role

• Help setting cultural direction and tone for a new era with a young and evolving team

• A reliable structure and information source for training prep, player conversations, and internal club meetings

• Where to gather inspiration and elite insights on how to be a great captain from day one

• Tools to manage the captaincy workload while working a full-time job - and still finding time to prepare his own game

The Solution

Factum delivered a private, lightly proactive AI Bot - available to the captain 24/7 within his own ChatGPT interface - built around his unique role, personality, and goals, and the heritage and values of the club.

Active modules included:

How We Trained the Bot

The AI Bot was built using Factum’s embedded context framework, combining elite cricket captaincy-focused research - from the lived experience of the world's best captains - into a bespoke knowledge base created specifically for the new captain.

We integrated:

• Club-Specific Documents – Annual reports and cultural protocols from the client’s environment
